Isle of Wight will this summer play host to one of the most exciting openings of the season, as El Patron announces the launch of a second site at the unique holiday destination. Following in the successful footsteps of tequila bar, El Patron London, the Isle of Wight site will take the El Patron experience even further with the extraordinary opening of a restaurant, bar AND Europe’s First Tequila Hotel.

Renowned for their quirky interior, late-night fiestas and authentic menus, El Patron Isle of Wight will open in the historic Charter House – a striking red brick, grade II building in the idyllic St Thomas’s Square, offering a large outdoor area, perfect for warmer days. The exterior will feature classical architectural structures, contrasted by the eclectic interior inside, which will be transformed into a Mexican playground with exposed brick walls, Latino inspired artwork, colourful Mediterranean style shutters, a corrugated iron bar, and reclaimed material from former warships.

Guests will enjoy delicious Mexican street food such as Spinach and Feta Quesadillas, dripping Slow Cooked Pork Burritos, crispy Fish Tacos, and a selection of traditional chunky salsas, all served on large sharing plates for an authentic South American experience. Other dishes will include El Patron’s Secret Guacamole, Chargrilled Flank Steak served with a Pumpkin Seed Salad, succulent Pulled Chicken Burritos, and Shredded Beef Tacos with Salsa De Arbol.

The upstairs boutique hotel will consist of six bespoke Mexican styled rooms, each themed around a different drink from El Patron’s extensive tequila menu, where every room will have its own individual cocktail-set for guests to get the full tequila experience. In the bar section, there will be live music and DJ’s from Wednesday to Saturday, playing a mix of Latino inspired hits that will keep guests dancing until dawn, and there will also be live music every Sunday, during the day.

In honour of the summer opening, El Patron has also created a fresh new cocktail menu, with drinks uch as Maraca, made of bubbles, melon, mint and lemon, Luchador, a mango margarita with a kick off jalapeno infused Arette Blanco, mango, chillies and lime, The 100 Years Of Lychee, Patron Silver, pear liquor, lychee, guava and peach, and for a night cap, guests can also order the Estimulante, a cheeky cocktail of Patron XO Cafe, dark cacao, and espresso.

El Patron is the brainchild of the young, dynamic couple, Aiste Bart and Andrew Taylor, who opened their first El Patron venue in London earlier this year to huge success. Aiste and Andrew are already planning a third venue, which is due to open later this year.
